Terms of Service
Last updated: May 22, 2026
Kuppel Ltd ("we", "us", "our") operates the Kuppel mobile application and website. These terms govern your use of the Kuppel mobile application and website.
Kuppel Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17073504). Registered office: 10 Shaws Road, Altrincham, WA14 1QU.
Please read the following important terms and conditions before you use our mobile application and website and check that they contain everything you want and nothing that you are not willing to agree to.
This contract sets out:
- your legal rights and responsibilities;
- our legal rights and responsibilities; and
- certain key information required by law.
These terms and conditions explain how you may use the mobile application and website and any of their content.
The mobile application and website are provided by us to you free of charge for entertainment purposes only, and for personal and non-commercial use only.
For details about our processing of your personal data, please see our Privacy Policy.
By creating an account, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Kuppel.

1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Kuppel. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We verify your age during registration using AI-based age estimation technology and reserve the right to request additional proof of age or remove accounts where we have reason to believe the user is under 18.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You may not create an account on behalf of another person without their knowledge and consent.
2. How Kuppel works
In these terms, "Single" means a user using Kuppel to find matches, and "Matchmaker" means a user recommending profiles to their Single friends. A user may act as both a Single and a Matchmaker simultaneously.
Kuppel is a dating app with two user roles:
- Singles create a profile and are shown potential matches. Singles can swipe to express interest. When two Singles both express interest, a match is formed and they can message each other.
- Matchmakers make introductions between their friends and browse profiles on behalf of a Single they are linked with and recommend potential matches to that Single. Matchmakers do not see private messages, contact details, or hidden profile fields of the people they browse.
By using Kuppel as a Single, you understand and agree that your public profile information (including your name, photos, city, bio, and any profile fields you have not hidden) may be viewed by:
- other Singles who are swiping for matches; and
- Matchmakers who are recommending profiles to the Singles they are linked with.
Where a Matchmaker recommends your profile to a Single, that Single will see your profile in their swipe queue.
Kuppel does not guarantee any particular outcome. We do not promise that you will find a match, that matches will lead to dates, or that any information provided by other users is accurate.
You agree that you are solely responsible for all costs and expenses you may incur in relation to your use of the mobile application and website.
We make no promise that the mobile application and website are appropriate or available for use in locations outside of the UK. If you choose to access the mobile application and website from locations outside the UK, you acknowledge you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws where they apply.
We try to make sure that the mobile application and website are accurate, up-to-date and free from bugs, but we cannot promise that they will be. Furthermore, we cannot promise that the mobile application and website will be fit or suitable for any purpose. Any reliance that you may place on the information on the mobile application and website is at your own risk.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password with anyone. If you believe your account has been compromised, change your password immediately and contact us via our support page.
You may only have one account. If we detect duplicate accounts (including through facial recognition comparison), we may remove them. If you believe a removal was made in error, contact us via our support page and we will respond.
4. Content
When you upload photos, write a bio, or send messages, you retain ownership of that content. However, by posting content on Kuppel, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content within the Kuppel service for the purpose of operating the app. This includes displaying your profile to other users and to Matchmakers acting on behalf of their linked Singles. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your profile content (including your photos, name, or bio) for marketing or promotional purposes. If we ever wish to feature a specific user's profile in marketing material, we will contact that user directly and obtain their express permission first.
Full content rules are in our Acceptable Use Policy; the most important categories are summarised below.
You are responsible for the content you create. You must not post content that:
- Contains nudity or sexually explicit material.
- Depicts or promotes violence or self-harm.
- Harasses, threatens, or intimidates another person.
- Is defamatory, discriminatory, or hateful.
- Infringes on another person's intellectual property or privacy.
- Contains spam, advertising, or solicitations.
- Impersonates another person or misrepresents your identity.
- Contains malware or harmful code.
- Depicts or facilitates child sexual abuse or exploitation in any form.
- Violates any applicable law.
We will use reasonable efforts to:
- delete accounts which are being used in an inappropriate manner or in breach of these terms and conditions; and
- identify and remove any content that is unlawful, inappropriate, defamatory, infringes intellectual property rights or is otherwise in breach of any of our terms or policies.
when we are notified of the same.
If you believe that any content which is distributed or published by the mobile application or website is unlawful, inappropriate, defamatory or infringing on intellectual property rights, you should contact us immediately via our support page.
We use automated systems (including AI-based content moderation) to detect content that breaks these rules. All photos are scanned automatically before they appear to other users. If our automated check rejects a photo, please upload a different photo which meets the rules. Other content may be reviewed when reported.
Further detail on our content rules and how we enforce them is in our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Intellectual property
The intellectual property rights in the mobile application and website and in any text, images, video, audio or other multimedia content, software or other information or material submitted to or accessible from the mobile application and website except the content you upload to your profile (the "Kuppel Materials") is owned by us and our licensors.
We and our licensors reserve all our intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, all copyright, trade marks, domain names, design rights, database rights, patents and all other intellectual property rights of any kind) whether registered or unregistered anywhere in the world. This means, for example, that we remain owners of them and are free to use them as we see fit.
Nothing in these terms and conditions grants you any legal rights in the mobile application or website or the Kuppel Materials other than as necessary for you to access it. You agree not to adjust, try to circumvent or delete any notices contained on the mobile application or website or the Kuppel Materials (including any intellectual property notices) and in particular, in any digital rights or other security technology embedded or contained within the mobile application or website or the Kuppel Materials.
6. Matchmaker responsibilities
If you act as a Matchmaker on Kuppel, you agree to:
- Only recommend people you genuinely believe would be a good match for your Single.
- Not recommend people without a reasonable basis for thinking they might be compatible with your Single.
- Respect the privacy of both the Single you are recommending profiles to and the profiles you browse on their behalf. You must not share screenshots, profile details, or any information about other users outside of the Kuppel app.
- Not use the Matchmaker role to harass, stalk, or collect information about other users.
Matchmakers act in a voluntary, informal capacity. Kuppel does not employ Matchmakers and is not responsible for the quality or outcome of any recommendation a Matchmaker makes.
Further detail on Matchmaker conduct, including how Matchmakers must handle Singles' profile information, is in our Acceptable Use Policy.
7. Age and identity verification
Kuppel uses AI-based technology to verify your age and identity:
- Age verification: During registration, an AI model analyses your selfie to estimate whether you are 18 or older. If the system cannot confirm you are 18+, you will be blocked from completing registration. You may request a manual review by emailing us with a selfie and photo ID.
- Photo verification: Kuppel may ask you to take selfies that are compared against your profile photos using facial recognition technology. This confirms that you are the person in your photos. A mathematical representation of your facial features (a "face encoding") is stored on your profile to enable ongoing verification of new photos and to detect duplicate accounts.
If your verification fails, you can try again or contact support. We do not penalise users for failed verification attempts unless we detect deliberate misrepresentation.
8. Swipe limits
Kuppel applies daily limits on the number of profiles you can swipe on. These limits exist to encourage thoughtful engagement and to maintain the quality of the service.
Singles and Matchmakers have separate daily allowances. If you use Kuppel in both roles, you receive an allowance for each role independently, and exhausting one does not affect the other. Your allowance grows with the size of your active network: Singles with more active Matchmakers, and Matchmakers with more active Singles, receive larger daily allowances. Some interactions, such as Singles swiping on profiles recommended to them by a Matchmaker, may not count toward your daily allowance.
We may adjust swipe limits from time to time at our sole discretion.
You must not create multiple accounts, or use any other method, to circumvent these limits. We monitor for circumvention and may suspend accounts where we detect it.
9. Referral programme
Kuppel offers a referral programme that allows you to invite friends and earn rewards. By participating, you agree to the following:
- Each user receives a unique referral code. You may share your code with friends to invite them to Kuppel.
- Rewards are earned when an invited user meets the qualification criteria within the specified time period after registering.
- Reward amounts and qualification criteria are set by us and may change at any time. Current rates and terms are visible in the app.
- You must not create fake accounts, use automated methods, or engage in any form of fraud to earn referral rewards. We monitor for fraudulent referral activity and may disqualify rewards, suspend accounts, or reclaim payments if fraud is detected.
- Rewards are paid at our discretion following manual review. We reserve the right to withhold or cancel rewards where we suspect abuse of the programme.
- Referral rewards are subject to any applicable tax obligations, which are your responsibility.
10. Privacy and data
Your privacy and personal information are important to us. Any personal information that you provide to us will be dealt with in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what personal information we collect from you, how and why we collect, store, use and share such information, your rights in relation to your personal information and how to contact us and supervisory authorities if you have a query or complaint about the use of your personal information.
We also collect pseudonymised usage data to understand how people use Kuppel and to improve the service. This data cannot identify you personally. Full details are in our Privacy Policy under "Usage analytics". You have the right to object to this processing at any time.
11. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- Use Kuppel for any commercial purpose not expressly permitted by us, including promoting third-party products or services.
- Scrape, crawl, aggregate, collect, compile or extract data from Kuppel using automated means.
- Attempt to access another user's account.
- Circumvent any security, content moderation, or age verification measures.
- Use Kuppel while legally prohibited from doing so.
- Create accounts with false information or photos that are not of you.
- Use Kuppel to facilitate any illegal activity.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Kuppel application.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of Kuppel or its infrastructure.
- Misuse or attack our mobile application or website by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or any other material which is malicious or technologically harmful (such as by way of a denial-of-service attack).
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our mobile application or website, the server on which our mobile application or website is stored or any server, computer or database connected to our mobile application or website.
- Use any artificial intelligence (AI) tools, machine learning algorithms, or other automated technologies to analyse, process, or generate content based on or through the use of any content on the mobile application or website. This includes, but is not limited to, using any content on the mobile application or website to (i) train AI models, (ii) for any form of automated content generation, and (iii) as input to an AI system, as a prompt, request, question, instruction or similar.
By accessing and using the mobile application or website, you agree to comply with these restrictions. Any attempt to bypass these restrictions may result in legal action and/or termination of access to the mobile application or website.
Further detail on prohibited conduct and our enforcement approach is in our Acceptable Use Policy.
12. Reporting and blocking
If another user's behaviour makes you uncomfortable or violates these terms, you can:
- Block them. They will no longer appear in your searches or be able to contact you. Blocking is mutual and immediate.
- Report them. Our team will review the report and take action if warranted.
How to block: Use the block button in your conversation with a user you have matched with. To block someone by phone number (whether or not they are currently on Kuppel), open Settings and add them to your Blocked Contacts list. You can review and unblock from the same list at any time.
How to report: Use the report button on any conversation with the user. If you cannot reach the user that way, contact us via our support page.
We take reports seriously. False or malicious reporting may itself be treated as a violation of these terms.
13. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or permanently remove your account if:
- You violate these terms.
- Your content violates our content guidelines.
- We detect behaviour that threatens the safety of other users.
- We detect duplicate accounts.
- We detect attempts to circumvent platform limits, such as swipe limits.
- We are required to do so by law.
- We detect prohibited content (including child sexual abuse material). In such cases, we will report to the relevant authorities as required by law, suspend the account immediately, and preserve account data for at least one year.
Where reasonably possible, we will notify you of the reason for suspension and give you an opportunity to respond before permanent removal, except where doing so would compromise an ongoing investigation or child safety obligation.
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app or via our account deletion page. When you delete your account, we remove your profile from the service immediately. Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it for longer (see our Privacy Policy for details).
14. Future paid features
Kuppel is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future. If we do, we will update these terms and clearly present the pricing and terms before any purchase, and your use of paid features will be subject to additional terms that we will provide at that time. No charges will ever be applied without your explicit agreement.
15. Your responsibility
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kuppel Ltd, its directors, and its service providers from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your breach of these terms.
- Content you upload or share through Kuppel.
- Your interactions with other users, whether online or offline.
- Any fraudulent or abusive use of the referral programme.
This does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer under UK law that cannot be excluded or limited by contract.
16. Limitation of liability
Kuppel is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any matches will result in a positive outcome.
If we breach these terms and conditions or are negligent, we are liable to you for foreseeable loss or damage that you suffer as a result. By "foreseeable" we mean that, at the time these terms and conditions were formed, it was either clear that such loss or damage would occur or you and we both knew that it might reasonably occur, as a result of something we did (or failed to do).
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for the actions, behaviour, or content of any user, whether online or in person.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Kuppel.
- We are not liable for:
- losses that were not foreseeable to you and us when the contract was formed;
- losses that were not caused by any breach on our part;
- business losses; or
- losses to non-consumers.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Kuppel is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English and Welsh law.
No one other than a party to this contract has any right to enforce any term of this contract.
We are not liable to you if we fail to comply with these terms and conditions because of circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
17. Disputes
We will try to resolve any disputes with you quickly and efficiently. If you are unhappy with the services we have provided or any other matter, please contact us as soon as possible via our support page.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are resident elsewhere you will retain the benefit of any mandatory protections given to you by the laws of that country. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This means that you can choose whether to bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales or in the courts of another part of the UK in which you live.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. No changes to these terms and conditions are valid or have any effect unless agreed by us in writing. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Kuppel after the changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you should stop using Kuppel and delete your account.
19. Entire agreement
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, our Child Safety Standards, and any other policy or document referred to in these terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding your use of Kuppel. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
